Kinship With Horses

I am the owner of KINSHIP WITH HORSES TRAINING CENTER  and I confess- I love horses- their beauty, their majesty, their humor, their habits, their feel and their smell.  My passion started in 1964 as a child in Southern California and I have never looked back. 

Until 2006, I was practicing natural horsemanship using an approach known as "pressure and release".  But always looking to learn and expand my experiences, I read True Horsemanship Through Feel and found it more than just a little interesting.   But it did not truly consume me until I saw Leslie Desmond at the November 2006 Equine Affair in Massachusetts.  That demonstration - that moment in time - well, it was life changing for me.  It was the beginning of a commitment to grow to the next level of horsemanship.  

Ms Desmond stressed that the hallmarks to True Horsemanship Through Feel  were intent, feel,  and timing.  After witnessing her demonstration, I was struck by my own intent to learn and to grow under Leslie's guidance, the feel that I experienced knowing this was the path for me, and the timing of Leslie's upcoming clinic for trainers that would take place.  It all became clear.  I went off to California to learn.

At present, I live in  a rural town in Western New York.  My Ranch (The Blue Mule Ranch) is my "office" and there, I share my life with wonderful horses, family, and good friends.  I never tire of new challenges and I take true pleasure in coaching others on horsemanship through feel. 

The Ranch

KINSHIP WITH HORSES TRAINING CENTER is located at the Blue Mule Ranch.   Here, the views of the hills are enjoyed by humans and horses.  Sunsets and sunrises seem more colorful and expansive.   Afternoon breezes feel more gentle and the smell of sweet grass hay is intoxicating.  Conversations between horses and people are a way of life.   Here, natural horsemanship through feel is practiced.   You are cordially invited!
